2 Injured in Mesopotamia Crash

Ohio State Highway Patrol

A man was taken to the hospital by helicopter after his minivan collided with a full-size van Monday afternoon in Mesopotamia Township.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Sarah Hoskinson, 23, of Windham, was heading west on state Route 87 in a Ford E350 van when she tried to turn left onto state Route 534 and struck an eastbound Chrysler Voyager driven by Ronald Gingrich, 57, of North Bloomfield. The crash happened about 5:30 p.m.

The patrol said Gingrich was flown by helicopter to University Hospital in Cleveland, but was later transferred to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, but he suffered a possible chest injury, the patrol said.

Hoskinson was taken by Bristol EMS to Trumbull Memorial Hospital. The patrol cited her for failure to yield when turning left.
