Local Baker Gets Shot at Redemption

A local baker had the chance to redeem himself on a national TV show where baking is part of the competition.

Joshua Bartell, owner of Bartell’s Cupcakery, made another appearance on Cupcake Wars on the Food Network.

Last season, Bartell was on the show but was one of the first to go home.

Show producers invited him back to California for their special edition, “Rock and Roll” episode.

On Sunday night’s show, the task was to make 1,000 cupcakes for a music festival.

Bartell made several desserts including a maple bacon cupcake and butter pecan cupcake.

Unfortunately, he fell short again.

“Not again, I blew this today,” Bartell said on the show after being eliminated. “Especially after that strong first-round showing I really thought I was going to come back and win this one, and I feel like we messed it up again.”
