Pa. sheriff’s deputy charged with using heroin

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A deputy sheriff from southwestern Pennsylvania has been arrested after undercover Pittsburgh police say they found her and a friend using heroin in a store parking lot.

Twenty-four-year-old Erika Ditch, of Greensburg, faces a preliminary hearing on heroin possession charges April 11.

Ditch and her friend are also charged with possession with intent to deliver, because of the large number of individual dose bags that police say were found in the car.

Ditch resigned Thursday as a deputy in neighboring Westmoreland County.
