2 children died instantly in Ohio crash

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) — The coroner’s office says two children died instantly from “devastating” injuries in a crash on Interstate 76 near Youngstown.

The Mahoning County coroner’s office said 7-year-old Pedro Crumpton and his 2-year-old sister Paris Crumpton were ejected from the Chevrolet Trailblazer when it crossed the median and hit a tractor-trailer truck Thursday morning.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the SUV rolled several times before hitting the truck.

The parents, Rashon and Shakia Crumpton, also were ejected from the vehicle and were in critical condition at a hospital. The family’s dog also survived the crash.

The coroner’s report said the family was returning to its home in Glendale, NY, after visiting family in Columbus.
