2 fatally injured in separate Philly accidents

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police say a man riding a dirt bike was fatally injured in the city’s west Philadelphia neighborhood just minutes before a motorcyclist died following a crash a few blocks away.

The Philadelphia Daily News reports (bit.ly/XUdX3J) that a man 25 to 30 years old suffered a traumatic head injury shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday when his dirt bike struck a median. He was taken to a local hospital where he died about a half hour later.

In the second incident, police say a 27-year-old motorcyclist was struck by an SUV. He was taken to a hospital where he died.
