2 men shot on busy Pittsburgh street

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Two men have been wounded in a shootout on a busy downtown Pittsburgh street.

Police say it happened Friday afternoon when a man pulled a gun on another man in front of the Capital Grille on Fifth Avenue. The gunman shot the man in the shoulder. Police say the victim managed to wrestle the gun from the shooter and shot him once in the upper leg.

The victim was treated at a hospital and released. Police did not release his name.

Police identified the gunman as 22-year-old Hassan Howze of Pittsburgh. He’s charged with aggravated assault and conspiracy. Howze is hospitalized in serious condition.

A third man, 24-year-old Antonio Peterson of Pittsburgh, also faces charges. Police say he and Howze confronted the victim and began fighting with him before the shots were fired.
