3 men charged in Ohio in alleged credit card theft

CINCINNATI (AP) — Southwest Ohio authorities say three men from Illinois and Indiana have been charged in an alleged multi-state credit card theft operation that stretched into China and cost banks more than $150,000.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters says 26-year-old Christopher Grier, 26-year-old Jonathan Martin and 30-year-old Ricky Lonners were indicted Friday on charges of money laundering, theft and other counts. The indictment lists Chicago addresses for Grier and Lonners and a Munster, Ind., address for Martin.

Court records didn’t list attorneys for them.

Deters says they are suspected of stealing credit card information and using it to purchase items such as iPads. He says the items were then sent to a company in China for reimbursement and additional credit card information, which the suspects would use for future purchases.
