Man, 62, charged with dragging western Pa. trooper

BENTLEYVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A 62-year-old man has been charged with dragging a western Pennsylvania state trooper with his truck after refusing to stop at the scene of an earlier crash.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for Arnold Frankie, of Fredericktown, who faces charges including aggravated assault and reckless endangerment from the incident about 6 p.m. Wednesday.

That’s when police say Trooper Heather Gonglik was directing traffic in Bentleyville when Frankie drove up in his pickup.

Police say Frankie briefly chatted with the trooper before ignoring her commands to remain stopped, and sped away. In the process, police say Frankie hit her with his truck and dragged her about 20 feet before she fell and hit her head.

Gonglik drove after Frankie and stopped him about a half mile away. He faces a preliminary hearing April 12.
