Body found in burning car in SW Philly

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Authorities are trying to identify a person whose body was found in a burning car on a southwest Philadelphia roadway.

Police said the fire in the Kingsessing section of the city was reported shortly after 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

Fire crews called to the scene extinguished the blaze and found the body.

The cause of death has not been determined.

Witnesses told WPVI-TV that a vehicle was seen speeding away from the burning car.
