Champion Teenager Hit While Jogging

Bicyclist Killed in Crash
A Green Township man was killed while riding his bike Friday afternoon.

[lin_video src= service=syndicaster width=480 height=510 div_id=videoplayer-1365294591 type=script]A Champion Township teenager is recovering after being hit by a car Friday night.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Ana-Carmine Ruiz, 17, was jogging westbound on Airport Road around 9:30 p.m. when she was hit by an SUV driven by John Pickett, 45, of Champion.

Ruiz’s father was riding a bicycle behind her at the time of the accident.

Ruiz was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
