The Mahoning Valley’s Greek community packed downtown Warren for the 13th Annual Greek Independence Day Parade.

The parade kicked off Sunday at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church on High Street. The parade proceeded down West High Street and ended at city hall on Mahoning Avenue. A brief ceremony was held at city hall, and the Greek flag was raised.

Greece’s independence is the only foreign nation’s independence officially celebrated in the United States.
