Mill Creek MetroParks Farm in Canfield hosted its annual farm animal baby shower on Sunday.
The annual open house is usually held the first weekend in April, allowing the community to come in and see the newest baby animals.
This year also featured a very non-traditional farm animal, a baby kangaroo.
Organizers said there’s usually a good crowd, but this time it was exceptional because of the weather.
“During the winter months, the farm facility is actually closed. The education staff visit students in the classroom here in Mahoning County, and so when springtime comes, we switch to field trips, so, this is kind of saying to the public, we’re open for the season,” said Brenda Markley, Agricultural Education Program Manager.
The farm is now open every day of the week with varying hours.
