Shootings kill 2, critically injure 3 in Philly

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police say shootings in different parts of Philadelphia have killed a man and a woman and critically injured three others this weekend.

A police spokeswoman says a 36-year-old man was shot multiple times in north Philadelphia shortly after 10:30 p.m. Saturday. He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead just before 11 p.m. Saturday. A 42-year-old man was shot in the left foot.

Police said a woman in her early 20s who appeared to have been shot in the cheek and in the side of the head in a different area of north Philadelphia was pronounced dead minutes after she was found shortly before 7:22 a.m. Sunday

Police said other Philadelphia shootings Friday night and Saturday morning sent three men to hospitals in critical condition.
