Boardman Caribou Coffee to Close

Caribou Coffee is closing all 32 locations in Ohio this coming Sunday.

Among the stores to be closed is the Boardman location in the Shops at Boardman Park.

Caribou will continue operating 469 locations in 10 states, but not Ohio or Pennsylvania.

The company plans to rebrand 88 other stores to Peet’s Coffee and Tea, but there is no confirmation that the Boardman location will be included in the group.

The conversions will occur over the next 12 to 18 months.

Inquiries to the company’s Indianapolis headquarters have not been successful.

Caribou was taken private last year by German investment firm Joh. A Benckiser Group GmbH, which also holds a majority stake in Peet’s.
