Diamond Notes: Monday, April 8
Cardinal Mooney (3-0)
-The Cardinals have won their first three games of the season by one-run in each outing. The team has combined for a 2.33 ERA in 21 innings. Senior catcher Drew Designore accumulated a .444 batting average and a .545 on-base percentage. Harrison Wagner leads the Cards with 4 runs and 3 stolen bases.

Mineral Ridge (3-2, 1-1)
-Since dropping their first two games (to McDonald and Jackson-Milton), the Rams have rebounded well to win three straight. Ridge’s slugger Dan Ferguson started slow by failing to have a base hit in his first four games. However, Number 7 seems to have gotten back on track after posting a 2-4 outing against Lordstown on Saturday which featured a double and a homerun. Junior hurler Greg Strohmeyer threw 6.2 innings in a 2-1 loss against Jackson-Milton last Wednesday. Strohmeyer struck out 7 Blue Jays and allowed his opponent to post a .179 batting average.

-Jessica Buck belted a homerun on Friday (vs. Hubbard) and on Saturday (vs. Niles). Buck leads the Lady Vikings with 8 RBIs and a slugging percentage of 1.000. A pair of juniors, Somer McCoy and Danielle Miracle, have combined for 14 hits and 10 runs. Emily Dugan has been lights out so far on the hill. She has thrown 13 innings , struck out 12 batters, and has compiled an ERA of 1.08 while winning both of her appearances.

West Middlesex (2-2)
-Taylor Gilliland had a monster game from the plate on Thursday in a losing effort to Mercer. West Middlesex’s outfielder hit a homerun and a double while accumulating 2 RBIs. For the season, #1 has hit for a .462 average (6-13) with a leading 7 runs scored. Junior Jordyn Allen has tossed every inning for her team. Allen has struck out 29 batters in 24.1 innings.
