Springfield Outlasts East Palestine

Springfield defeated East Palestine in baseball Monday afternoon, 10-7.

James Hillyer led the Tigers at the plate by going 3-4 with a single, double, homerun and two runs scored. Ryan Kohler added in a 3-5 performance with two doubles.

Nate Keylor highlighted the Bulldogs offensive efforts with a 2-4 day that included two runs scored and two stolen bases. Sam Yarosz also had a nice day, going 2-3 with two doubles.

Cody Pitzo gets the win for Springfield, working three innings, allowing two earned runs. He struck out four and didn’t walk a batter.

The Tigers improve to 3-0 on the season, 3-1 in the league. East Palestine drops to 3-2. These two teams will meet again tomorrow at Springfield at 5 p.m.
