Youngstown Cop Struck in Traffic Mishap

A Youngstown police officer was treated at the hospital Monday evening after he was struck by a truck pulling a trailer on the West Side.

Police responded to a disturbance in the parking lot of Grace Services on Meridian Road around 3 p.m.  Monday. Police said a man got in his truck and left and came back.

When the man left the second time, he was not paying attention and struck the officer in his leg, slicing it open.  The officer was up and walking around and is expected to be OK.

The driver is expected to be cited in the accident.
