Lake Julia Stocked and Ready for Fishing

The Lake Julia dredging project at Buhl Park in Hermitage is complete and Tuesday park officials began stocking the lake with fish.

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission have put trout in the lake ahead of the start of trout season beginning Saturday, April 13.

Students and the community spent the last year building and placing underwater habitats in the lake for the fish. Buhl Park Corp. manager Pat O’Mahony said after the trout, more fish of different species will be added to the lake.

“This, what we’re doing today and dredging is really going to be great for the people of the community to enjoy Buhl Park and Lake Julia,” said O’Mahony. “People who are fishermen, they could come up here and once again fish at Lake Julie. Everything is working out right, and there is a lot of people here interested in fishing and the park.”

Park officials want to remind residents that a license is required to fish in the lake.
