Students Honor ATV Crash Victim

Southern Local students wore purple and green on Wednesday to honor a 13-year-old classmate who died Monday in an ATV accident.

District superintendent John Wilson said students decided to wear Abby Walker’s favorite colors, purple and green, on Wednesday. Students also made pins memorializing Walker, a 7th grade honor student who participated in the EXCEL program, robotics and volleyball.

Wilson said counselors were made available to students.

Authorities said Walker was riding a four-wheeler off state Route 664 in Franklin Township

Calling hours will take place Friday at Trinity Friends Church on U.S. Route 30.

“I just wanted everyone to know she had two loving parents and a large family (and) friends who love and will miss her dearly,” Walker’s mother Shannon Marra said in an email to WKBN.COM. “She touched everyone who she met, she truly was special. Abby made the world a better place by just being in it.”
