TMH, Union Reach New Contract

Trumbull Memorial Hospital officials on Wednesday said they ratified a new contract with hospital service workers.

Hospital Vice President of Public Relations Trish Hrina said in a statement the hospital ratified the new contract that will run through March 2016 with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 2804.

Hrina said with this news agreement, the hospitals of ValleyCare Health System of Ohio have concluded five new labor agreements since November, including:

  • Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital employees represented by AFSCME Local 2288 ratified a new collective bargaining contract with the hospital on March 26.
  • Trumbull Memorial Hospital employees represented by the Service Employees International Union ratified a new collective bargaining contract with the hospital on Dec. 18.
  • Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital employees represented by the Ohio Nurses Association ratified a new collective bargaining contract with the hospital on Dec. 19.
  • Trumbull Memorial Hospital registered nurses represented by AFSCME Local 2026 ratified a new collective bargaining contract with the hospital on Nov. 14.

The five ratified labor agreements have similar terms, and each includes annual wage increases, as well as comprehensive benefits including health insurance, Hrina said. Employees working under the new agreements include registered nurses, service, technical, maintenance and professional workers.
