Home Savings Contributes $100K to Boardman Stadium Fund

Boardman High School’s football team could have a new home.

The Home Savings and Loan Foundation presented the Boardman Booster Club with a $100,000 check Thursday.

The Booster Club is trying to raise $4 million to build a new stadium on the campus of the high school.

The current stadium was built in the 1930s, is not handicap accessible, and needs field upgrades.

The Boosters also hope to move the field closer to the high school instead of at the middle school.

“These buildings you see will be part of the stadium and lockers room and stuff like that,” said Boardman booster club president Bill Bonte. “So, we’re going to utilize the footprint that we have here and the facilities that are already here and build upon them.”

The Booster Club has already raised about $800,000.
