MYCAP Adds Service for Rural Residents

Seniors and residents with disabilities in western Mahoning County now have another option to get out and about.

The Sebring office of MYCAP has launched “Take a Trip Thursdays.” Every Thursday a different destination is planned such as Walmart, museums, movie theaters and other area attractions.

The transportation is free and the service helps those who don’t have access to a vehicle, but need a ride to run errands.

“We’re a rural area out here. We offer this service so they not only have fun and socialize with others, but also get some errands done,” said MYCAP rural services manager Andrea Capirano.

The shuttle leaves every Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Sebring MYCAP offices on North 15th Street. Advanced reservations are needed by calling 330-938-6166.
