Nursing Home Sued Over Patient’s Death

A Niles nursing home is being sued over the death of a patient who walked away from the facility last year.

The administrator of the estate of Eva Gorosic filed the civil suit last week. It has been assigned to Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Ronald Rice.

Gorosic was 84 when she walked out of Grace Woods Nursing Home, 730 Youngstown-Warren Road, on April 9. She later died of hypothermia.

The suit names the nursing home and employee Andrea Clark of Liberty as defendants. The suit states Clark was the only resident-care assistant on duty the night Gorosic walked away.

The suit claims Grace Woods was negligent in its care and seeks an unspecified amount of damages.
