Workshops Teach Life, Health and Happiness to Warren Students

Several creative workshops were held at the YWCA Thursday for elementary school students in Warren.

April is minority health month and in keeping with the theme, students at one of the after school programs focused on self-esteem building and using the arts to express their emotions.

Young Audiences of Northeast Ohio lead the workshop. Students worked together to write their own song focusing on a positive lifestyle.

High School mentors from Warren G. Harding took the younger kids to the different presentations.

“Like when I was growing up, it was bad and then I turned bad and then I switched myself around,” said youth mentor Mia Bennett. “I want to show the little kids they can do it.”

The YWCA will hold a fun family night at the end of April.
