Police investigate baby found in Pa. bathtub

CORAOPOLIS, Pa. (AP) – Township and county police have been investigating since an 11-month-old girl was found unresponsive and face-down in several inches of water in the bathtub of her western Pennsylvania home.

Moon Township police say the father was babysitting the girl and three other siblings ages 3, 6 and 8 when he discovered the girl in the tub Wednesday afternoon. Police Capt. Gregory Seamon says the tub is “sunken” meaning one has to step down into it.

Police say the girl was able to crawl, but they don’t know if she was able to walk.

She was continuing to be treated at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC on Friday.

The girl’s condition isn’t known because authorities haven’t released her name or that of her father, who hasn’t been charged. The girl’s mother was working at the time.
