Police Investigating Bomb Threats in Columbiana County

Police in two Columbiana County communities are investigating bomb threats that were called into local businesses on Friday.

In Salem, the Subway restaurant on East State Street was evacuated just before 1 p.m. Friday after someone called in the threat. Around the same time in East Liverpool, someone phoned in a threat to a downtown law firm at 124 East 5th Street.

Nothing suspicious was found in either case.

Earlier this week, a suspicious device was found inside of the Calcutta Walmart. The store was evacuated and the bomb squad was called in to remove the device.

Two suspects have been charged with that threat.
