Woman Hospitalized After Crash

A woman was hospitalized Monday after she was hit by a car in Youngstown.

The call came in just before 9 a.m. on West Woodbine Avenue, just west of Wick Park, after a car slammed into a telephone pole. A woman trapped under the car was rescued and taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center. Her injuries are unknown, but police said she was alert at the scene.

It’s also unknown if the victim was also the driver.  A witness said he believes the driver got out of the car to look at the damage, and was hit when the car rolled forward.

Police at the scene had no comment.
