Miller’s Two Homers Lead Fitch Rally

Austintown Fitch edged Canfield, 11-10, in a slugfest Tuesday evening at Austintown Fitch Athletic Complex.

Canfield jumped on the board first with five runs in the 1st inning. The Falcons responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the frame.

Back came the Cardinals with four runs in the 2nd inning. Fitch answered with two.

But in the 4th, down 9-4, the Falcons scored six runs to go on top 10-9. Scott Pierce started the scoring with a two-run double. Zach Miller then went over the fence for the 2nd time in the game, this a three-run shot, to tie things at 9-9. Tony Adams pushed Fitch on top with an RBI double of his own, scoring Zarek Bell.

Canfield wouldn’t lie down, going back up in the top of the 5th on a throwing error.

In the bottom of the 5th, Fitch took the lead for good when Pierce singled home Kevin Sierra.
