New Trial Set for Accused Killer

A new trial for accused killer Paul Brown is expected to start Wednesday.

Prosecutors believe Brown killed Ashten Jackson during a botched robbery attempt in 2009.

Jackson was missing for a week before his body was found behind a building on Jacobs Road.

Brown was on trial in January 2012 when Judge Sweeney stopped the case because a Youngstown police lieutenant failed to turn over several pieces of evidence before the trial started.

Brown’s attorney asked for a dismissal Tuesday but the motion was denied.
