Poland Gets Rain-Delayed Victory

Poland gets a 9-5 win over Howland in a rain-delayed game on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs had nine runs on 12 hits. Aleah Hughes (5-0)recorded the victory, allowing three runs on four hits. She struck out five batters in four innings. Kasie Serich started the game and pitched three innings, giving up two runs and striking out four.

Marissa Trevis was 3-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI, and two runs scored. Amanda Kabetso was 2-for-4, with one RBI and one run scored. Hughes was strong at the plate as well, going 3-for-4, two doubles and one RBI. Meredith Tesone was 1-for-4 with three RBIs.

Howland had five runs on seven hits. Hannah Burke went 2-for-4 with one home run. Olga Grech was 1-for-4 with a home run. Emily Price was 2-for-3, and Monica Kotyuk was 2-for-3. Burke was the losing pitcher on record. She pitched six innings, giving up seven earned runs and striking out two.
