Springfield Nips Crestview in Extras

Springfield nipped Crestview, 5-4, in a game that resumed after being postponed from Tuesday.

Tied at three in the ninth inning, Joe Wrask gave the Tigers the lead with a fielder’s choice RBI scoring Hunter Snyder. Later in the inning, James Hillyer added an insurance run with an RBI double. Hillyer finished with three hits including a home run. Meanwhile, Wrask finished the game with two hits and two RBIs.

Hillyer also picked up the win on the mound, working 3 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts and no walks.

Jake Ferris and Andrew Batchelor paced Crestview with two hits apiece. Ferris drove in a pair of runs in the loss.

Springfield improves to 7-1 overall and 6-0 in ITCL play. Crestview drops to 6-2 overall and 4-2 in league play.
