Woman killed in Philly roof fall was Delco student

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police say a woman who died after a three-story fall from the roof of a north Philadelphia row house near Temple University was a West Chester University freshman and Lancaster County native.

Nineteen-year-old Ali Fausnaught of Brownstown fell to her death during an off-campus rooftop party about 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say she somehow tripped over a 10-inch ledge on the roof and plummeted nearly 40 feet onto the concrete in a narrow alley between buildings.

She was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

There were 30 to 40 people on the roof when the young woman fell.

Police say partygoers were drinking on the roof but it wasn’t clear if alcohol played a part in the accident.
