Youngstown School Receives Educational Encouragement from Former NFL Player

A special guest spoke at the Youngstown Academy of Excellence on Thursday.

Tony Banks, retired Baltimore Ravens quarterback, talked to students about doing their best on the upcoming Ohio Achievement Assessments tests.  He talked about how he overcame the struggles he faced as a child.

“But, also, you get them to understand that your circumstances don’t have to define you.  The choices you make and how much time and energy you put in your education is going to be what defines you,” said Banks.

Students were also encouraged to take part in the schools after school programs.
