Pa. Man Faces Charges After Gun Assault

A Volant man faces aggravated assault charges following a confrontation involving a gun.

Pennsylvania State Police said Paul Baer, 61, fired a shot at Daniel Reich, 42, of Butler, Pa. on Brenneman Road in Wilmington Township Friday night.

The victim was on neighboring property. Baer had previously fired two rounds near the victim’s vehicle and then fired toward the victim when confronted.

Baer fired three rounds into the ground when requested to empty his pistol.

Baer was charged with making terroristic threats, simple assault, reckless endangering, disorderly conduct, and harassment.  He was taken into custody without incident.
