Reality TV Star Visits Local Pawn Shop

One of the stars of a popular cable TV show spent Saturday afternoon in Youngstown.

Rich Pyle of “Hardcore Pawn” visited Austintown Pawn on Mahoning Avenue on the city’s West Side. The appearance was part of a meet tour “For the Hock of It.”

Fans of the show lined up for a pictures and autographs of the reality TV star.

The tour gives Pyle the chance to travel around the Midwest and learn about how different states treat the pawn business.

“This is something I’m familiar with. This is something I understand. These are my people,” said Pyle. “I love to go around to different pawn shops. I did it even before I did the tour, and I talk to owners, people who work there, understanding of the rules and regulations from state to state.”

Pyle works at a family owned pawn shop in Detroit.
