Event honors OH woman whose body found in Indiana

FAIRFIELD, Ohio (AP) — A community event honored a southwest Ohio woman whose body was found in Indiana 20 months after she went missing.

The Saturday event at Harbin park in Fairfield was billed as a celebration of Katelyn Markham’s life. About 100 people attended.

The director of the Ohio chapter of Texas Equusearch says the event was planned especially for those who helped search for the 21-year-old Fairfield woman after she disappeared from her home in August 2011.

Texas Equusearch members were among hundreds of people who searched for Markham.

Her skeletal remains were found April 7 along a creek bed in Cedar Grove, Ind., about 30 miles from the Cincinnati suburb of Fairfield.

No one has been charged in the case.
