The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund honored Officer Randall Courson, of the Pulaski Township Police Department, for his heroics in a fatal car accident last year.

He will receive the Officer of the Month Award for April.

The organization’s website said Officer Courson spotted a truck overturned in a creek after completing his shift for the evening in January. He assisted with the rescue of the two occupants, 17-year-old Ethan Seeber and 15-year-old Shane McQuiston, from the icy water.

McQuiston later died.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of America’s law enforcement officers.

Officer Courson will be honored at a special awards ceremony in Washington, DC next year during National Police Week.
