Homicide ruled in Pa. death of man found in tarp

HARRISBUG, Pa. (AP) — The death of a man whose body was found wrapped in a tarp outside a central Pennsylvania hotel where authorities say he and his son had been living has been ruled a homicide.

The Dauphin County coroner’s office said Monday that 65-year-old James Edward Tommor died of multiple traumatic injuries.

His body was found behind a utility shed near the Days Inn in Susquehanna Township on Saturday.

Authorities say Tommor’s son, 24-year-old Trent Tolene, was arrested Friday night after a police pursuit on Interstate 81. He’s being held on $250,000 bail on DUI and other charges.

Investigators say blood was found in the room where the men were staying and that they believe it came from Tommor.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Tolene had an attorney.
