BENSALEM, Pa. (AP) — Three men have been jailed in an alleged plot to force a man to withdraw $80,000 from a bank while holding members of his family hostage at an eastern Pennsylvania home.

Online court records don’t list attorneys for three men charged by Bristol Township police: 38-year-old Orlando McNeil, of the township, and two Philadelphia men McNeil allegedly recruited to help him, 21-year-old Daesean Smith and 18-year-old Dennis Redding.

Police say the men burst into the target’s home and took six family members and friends hostage — including three children younger than 5.

Police say that happened Sunday night and that the hostages were held overnight until the target and his girlfriend could go to the bank, where the target told a teller of his plight. The teller alerted police, who say none of the hostages was badly hurt.
