Federal contractor fraud case wrapping up in Ohio

AKRON, Ohio (AP) — The government may be close to wrapping up its case against an Ohio man charged with defrauding more than $225,000 from contractors involved in FBI building projects in Indianapolis and Knoxville, Tenn.

An Akron federal judge has scheduled a hearing Tuesday for 51-year-old Robert Berryhill of Aurora. The court docket calls it an arraignment and guilty plea hearing.

Berryhill was charged in a court filing that usually signals a plea deal. There’s been no comment from the defendant or his attorney.

Berryhill was charged with mail and wire fraud, aggravated identity theft and posing as an FBI employee. The fraud allegedly involved phony businesses and invoices.
