‘Friends’ dead in W. Pa. downtown murder-suicide

WASHINGTON, Pa. (AP) — Two men are dead on a downtown street in southwestern Pennsylvania after police and a coroner say one shot the other outside a bar then turned the gun on himself a short distance away.

Police in Washington, Pa., a city about 20 miles southwest of Pittsburgh, and Washington County Coroner Tim Warco remained on the scene at daybreak Thursday.

Hours earlier, police responded to a shooting and found one man wounded who was taken to a hospital where he died.

While police were looking for the shooter, they found the second man dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.

Authorities believe the men were acquaintances or friends and may have had a dispute after drinking at the bar. The names of the victims have not been released.
