Masked Men Hold Kids at Gunpoint During Home Invasion

Three masked gunmen held a 7-month-old and a 5-year-old at gunpoint while demanding money from a Warren mother during a home invasion early Thursday.

Reports said three armed men wearing black bandanas around their face kicked down the backdoor at 3111 Clearwater St. N.W. and burst into the living room, where four children were watching television at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday.

The 29-year-old mother told police she heard a loud crash and heard the children scream.

Two gunmen grabbed two children and walked halfway up the stairs towards the mother. Reports said one of the men demanded to know where she kept her money. The woman told the men they had no idea who was living at the home and said she had no money or anything worth taking.

The mother offered to show the men she had no money, and the two men put the kids down. The woman told police she showed the men around her home.

One man then grabbed the woman’s cell phone and the three fled toward Merriweather Street S.W.

No one was injured during the invasion, reports said. Two children, after being released by the masked men, ran to their grandparents’ home nearby, reports said.
