67 percent of Ohio bar exam applicants passed

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Ohio Supreme Court says 67 percent of the aspiring lawyers to take the most recent bar exam have passed.

The court on Friday released the results of the Ohio Bar Examination administered Feb. 26-28. Of the 426 people who took the test, 286 passed it.

About 80 percent of the 254 first-time test-takers got passing scores.

The 67-percent passing rate is compared with 63 percent in 2012, about 70 percent in 2011, and about 66 percent in 2010.

Those who have satisfied all of the Supreme Court’s requirements for admission to the state bar can take the oath in a public session of the court May 6 at the Ohio Theater in Columbus.
