Boy in Philly ‘gun’ video surrenders, had only toy

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia police say boys seen terrorizing people with a gun on surveillance video were really just carrying a toy.

WPVI-TV (http://bit.ly/17XQoH8 ) reports the 10-year-old boy surrendered Thursday after police publicized the surveillance video in which the boy and at least two others can be seen terrorizing people on a street Monday evening.

The video show the 10-year-old boy pointing a gun at a girl around 6:25 p.m. Monday before a 14-year-old boy takes the weapon. The video shows the older boy walking on Ontario Street, dropping to one knee and pointing the gun at a group of males. He runs toward them, joins the group, then they all jump on the hood of an SUV.

Police say both boys have been questioned and knew those in the SUV. The DA must still decide whether to file charges.
