Memorial for Workers Held in Mercer County

Workers' Memorial

A memorial service was held Friday in Mercer County to honor the 65,000 Americans who have lost their lives in the workplace.

The service was held at the Mercer County Courthouse and sponsored by the Mercer County Central Labor Council and AFLCIO.

Allan McDougall with the United Steel Workers Emergency response team was the guest speaker.

The tradition of the Workers Memorial Day started in Canada and is now observed in 22 countries around the world.
