NW Pa. woman gets prison for heroin-fueled heists

ERIE, Pa. (AP) — A northwestern Pennsylvania woman will spend one to five years in prison for helping her boyfriend rob three banks to get money for heroin, a string of heists uncovered after a third man overdosed at a hotel where the couple were also staying.

Twenty-seven-year-old Erin Anderson, of Erie, was sentenced Thursday. Thirty-four-year-old Anthony Herrmann, who along with Anderson pleaded guilty in March to the bank robberies, is scheduled for sentencing Tuesday.

The couple robbed the banks in Erie and neighboring Millcreek Township from Nov. 8-10, and were linked to the heists after police investigated the overdose of a third man on Nov. 11.

The Erie Times-News (http://bit.ly/181HCIm ) reports Anderson told Erie County Judge Daniel Brabender she hopes to remain sober for the sake of her children, saying, “I don’t want to be this person anymore.”
