Police seek help finding men who beat Ohio officer

WESTERVILLE, Ohio (AP) — Police in central Ohio are looking for the public’s help in catching the suspects who beat an officer.

Genoa Township police Lt. Greg Yurkovich was hit in the head and knocked out by one of the two suspects while investigating a suspicious vehicle early Thursday.

Before he fell, he was able to hit the emergency button on his radio, and fellow officers found him unconscious a few minutes later. The 38-year-old veteran officer suffered a concussion, but is expected to recover.

Police believe the suspects were trying to steal boats from a storage yard. Sketches of the suspects were expected to be released Friday.

Genoa Township is just north of Columbus.
