A fire rekindled Saturday at a Hubbard business that was damaged by fire on Friday, destroying the lumber company’s building.

A Hubbard Township police officer called the rekindling fire in at about 4 a.m. on Saturday.  Crews from Coitsville, Hubbard and Brookfield battled the blaze.  The building was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived. Additional crews from Sharon were placed on standby.

The top shop at Babcock Lumber is located on Mt. Everett Road.  The company made laminate counter tops for home improvement stores like Lowe’s and Home Depot.

Fire officials said that Friday’s blaze was caused by a light that ignited the dust bin.

Several fire departments, along with the Red Cross and the state fire marshal all remained on scene Saturday morning.

Mt. Everett Road is closed at the railroad tracks while crews are on scene.
