Ryan Hamilton thanked the community of Youngstown Sunday for coming together to help his family purchase a wheelchair ramp for their van.

Ryan was born with cerebral palsy and no longer has use of his hands and legs. Still, he loves getting out of the house, but his mother’s van needed a ramp for his wheel chair. The retrofit cost $22,000. Friends organized a spaghetti dinner benefit to help with the cost.

“He loves everything about wrestling , so we want to make sure we can take him to wrestling  matches so that he can enjoy himself,” said benefit chairperson Cathy Evanovitz.

The community donated 111 baskets for a Chinese auction.

There was also a 50/50 raffle and a bake sale.
