Man shot in western Pa. music store identified

BETHEL PARK, Pa. (AP) — Authorities in western Pennsylvania have released the name of a man shot to death after reportedly brandishing a wooden club in an attack on the owners of a Pittsburgh-area music store.

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office identified the man Sunday as 31-year-old Andrew Moore of Venetia.

Bethel Park police said he entered Armen’s House of Music in Bethel Park at midday Saturday and attacked the wife of the owner with a wooden club. Police said he was shot to death after a brief struggle with the store owner, who came to his wife’s defense. The two victims were taken to UPMC Mercy but were expected to recover.

Police Chief John Mackey said robbery appeared not to be the motive, and he didn’t know whether the owners knew the man.
